FUNDING, FINANCING, SKILLED WORKERS, FRESH MONEY

The introduction of new film funding and the presentation of additional clients are typical topics for the "Film Industry Forum". Future framework conditions for film producers are part of expert talks, discussions and networking. This year the focus is also on innovations and solutions, which will be presented in three parallel sections: law, technology and business.

The development of the pandemic was foreseeable and this year's conference will therefore also take place digitally in order to ensure planning security. The Bavarian Digital Minister Judith Gerlach will open the event, which is sponsored by FFF-Bayern. The dominant topics are the shortage of skilled workers, the consequences of the copyright amendment, new requirements for corporate governance in production companies and the extensive digitalization. The topics of sustainability, fairness and honest management will then be discussed by selected specialists on the panel. Three different perspectives are offered on the topics on offer - law, technology and business - and personal exchange with like-minded people during networking opens up another.

Corona temporarily overshadowed some issues. However, the shortage of skilled workers is still the dominant issue. Training and further education can bring in new resources from other sectors of the economy. Career starters are guided into the film industry through targeted support and development prospects. In order to keep existing filmmakers on board, it is important to implement issues such as "appropriate remuneration" and "incentivization" intelligently. Using innovative and technological approaches offers opportunities that can also contribute to an overall solution. Every frustrated, lost skilled worker is lost to the entire industry.

More and more financing components depend on management hygiene, i.e. corporate governance. Most companies have positioned themselves accordingly. Within co-production communities, it is precisely the few others that pose a risk to the entire project. As part of the ESG goals (Environment, Social, Governance), the importance will increase. Social sustainability is largely regulated and environmental protection can also be easily managed through green shooting. Funding and institutional financiers require at least one ESG concept. ESG will also set the new standards for contract awarding for broadcasters and streamers.

Digitalization is a concern for many companies. There are many solutions that are specifically adapted for film production and are available turnkey from the service provider. Many offers are only possible thanks to digital pipelines and software-supported organization. Customers are already benefiting from many solutions that will be extended to the client in the future.

For decades, the "Film Industry Forum" has not only offered practical answers to the burning questions of the day, but has also introduced new minds. This year, too, outstanding solutions and innovative experts will be presented. We look forward to your participation.
