ESG - Environmental, Social, Corporate Governance

Sustainability (Environmental)

The green shooting pass is just one factor for sustainability in the creative industries. Computing capacity and the associated energy and cooling concepts also have a direct impact.

Some processes do not take place consciously or are not structurally documented. For example, if props or costumes are ordered online and sent back, they are destroyed and yet no evidence of this can be found in production - simply because no costs were incurred.

There are numerous examples of how sustainability can be increased along the entire value chain.

Fairness (Social)

Appropriate remuneration for authors and collective agreements are important cornerstones of fair cooperation. Are project-related employees developed in the same way as long-term employees would be? Are social security benefits such as the broadcasting pension fund or other company social benefits offered to all employees?

Another important aspect is the culture created. Culture shapes and forms the social life of society as a whole. A cultural work is therefore an important part of our social life. Cinema in particular is an economic and cultural asset - and must therefore be evaluated in this context.

The choice of filming location or country can bring about substantial changes in the local quality of life for the respective region. The increase in tourism, economic power, investments and tax revenues influence education, freedom of expression and political stability. The so-called ripple effect shows social and economic impacts along the value chain in third-party industries.

Honesty (Corporate Governance)

The creation of rules for the behavior of managers in a company, as well as mechanisms for compliance and monitoring compliance, is now largely standard. Ombudsmen and compliance complement the work of internal auditing, especially in larger companies, and ensure high-quality management hygiene.

However, project-based organizational structures are typical for the creative industries. With constant on- and off-boarding - or perhaps better re- and de-boarding - corporate governance can only be economically viable with technological support. Ensider offers appropriate solutions.

Management is often not aware of risks or is aware of them too late. The focus is often on the core operational business and its main processes. Support and management processes are based on this - and that's a good thing. In everyday life, external specialists are needed who follow the overall market, politics and the legislative process. This is the only way to identify relevant challenges and solve them in a practical way.

ESG investments

Ensider offers larger film productions and companies in particular the opportunity to outsource their ESG processes and/or compensate for them by investing in general ESG measures.
