Judith Gerlach (36) was appointed Bavarian State Minister for Digital Affairs in November 2018. This made the Aschaffenburg native the youngest minister in the Bavarian Cabinet, after having already entered the Bavarian State Parliament as the youngest member of parliament in 2013. Until her appointment as State Minister, the law graduate worked as a member of parliament and as a lawyer.

As Minister of State, Ms. Gerlach coordinates the digital measures of all ministries. She also manages Bavaria's measures in a wide range of digital areas - from the development of cutting-edge digital technologies such as blockchain to the expansion of digital administration and the promotion of film and games.
