Björn Böhning

Managing Director / CEO of the Alliance of German Producers – Film & Television eV

Björn Böhning, born in 1978, has been Managing Director of the Alliance of German Producers - Film & Television eV (Producers Alliance) since May 1, 2022. Before that, he was State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs from March 2018 to January 2022. There he was responsible for the policy areas of labor law, occupational safety, international employment and social policy as well as the policy field 'Future of Work' in the context of digitization and automation. He was a member of the administrative board of the German Federal Film Board and Deutschlandradio, as well as a member of the supervisory board of the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg. From 2011 to 2018, Björn Böhning was head of the Senate Chancellery of the State of Berlin and was responsible for media, film and digitization policy. In addition, he was a member of the board of the SPD's Media and Network Policy Commission, was a member of the SPD party executive from 2004 to 2011 and was Federal Chairman of the Juso between 2004 and 2007. Björn Böhning holds a degree in political science; he studied political science at the Otto Suhr Institute of the Free University of Berlin from 1999 to 2004.
