NETWORK BENEFITS

Whether it's social networks or industry events, maintaining contacts is always the top priority. Our business is project-based. This usually means that orders, work contracts or fixed-term employment contracts end after the current project and we are therefore constantly on the hunt for new options. Do social networks offer an alternative or at least a supplement? What networks are there and what makes sense?

Just as you don't wear shorts to an awards ceremony, there are rules in the digital world too. However, different rules apply to different platforms.

Managers find business contacts, but also inspiration and exchange on LinkedIn . The platform sees itself as a digital extension of the working world. Politics, religion, conspiracy theories, haphazard advertising and cat videos have no place here. In addition to many American contacts, almost all German executives can now be found here. Sustainability and compliance are receiving a lot of attention due to the new EU regulations. Clumsy cold calling via direct messages can sometimes lead to blocking. Posts that violate the code of conduct are deleted more quickly than on other networks. Xing, a similar platform from Germany, on the other hand, hardly plays a role in everyday life anymore.

Facebook , the mother of all social media networks, suffers from the quality of the posts and the extremely poor manners of users towards each other. Some companies have left because they do not want to position their brand in this environment. Solo self-employed people and artists in particular like to use Facebook through a corresponding function on Instagram.

Visual communication is still best done via Instagram . The app on your smartphone is a quick and easy way to share experiences and impressions in an emotional and up-to-date way. Anyone who is creative cannot ignore “Insta”.

Visibility is fundamentally an important factor. The various databases such as imdb , crew-united or cinando should therefore be up-to-date and well-maintained as a digital business card. This gives creative people (speakers, actors and directors) a much greater opportunity to present themselves. Unified Filmmakers is also planning an exciting digital network.

In addition to static master data, you can also provide your community with current content using Instagram, TikTok and SnapChat & Co. Anyone who has something to say today does so on X, formerly Twitter. YouTube videos, podcasts and "Reels" complete the spectrum. By the way, anyone who has something to say to professionals in the creative industry is welcome to request an interview or send us press releases! At Ensider:Nation we present solutions, innovations and important new developments.

However, real-life encounters are hard to beat. Highlights over the next few months include the Munich Media Days with the 25th Film Industry Forum, the traditional Bavarian film industry curling competition and, finally, the Berlinale. Those who prefer a more international approach will find what they are looking for in Cannes at the MIPCOM, in Los Angeles at the American Film Market and in London at FOCUS.
